10 things I know about you
Being on a similar wavelength, for me, is pretty important when I’m choosing who to spend my time and or my money with. I need to feel comfortable and for there to be a synergy. So here’s a bit about me to start you off.
Throughout my life, I’ve used holistic remedies, plants and food as medicine, and from my 20’s leant on Reiki, massage, lymphatic drainage, music, acupuncture, reflexology and TCM and Ayurvedic practitioners and practices, to soften the hard edges that invariably built up after years of stressful, corporate jobs, partying hard and being someone who struggled to switch off and slow down. Climbing a career ladder and always being someone who stepped up meant a lot, but it invariably took its toll in the form of burnout (twice) and meningitis.
I’m ADHD and empath and with that comes a huge amount of feeling, compassion, creativity, mind mapping for solutions and the ability to really tap into someones energy, feelings and get deep. If you come to me, we’re looking at the whole picture and not just the immediate need. A headache is rarely just a headache.
I’m not a floaty type of person. I’m practical yet spiritual, big on the detail and the theory and the science. I train in modalities that have worked for me. If I don’t get it, or get what I need from it, I don’t train in it.
I want to help people who I understand and can connect with through similar lived experience. I always wanted to support people who have busy, restless brains. The intersection of this is of course, varied and multi-layered, but it seems my client base is drawn to me through the same variables, so it’s working for both sides. I often think the ND community and inclusion in general isn’t given enough thought; especially within the wellness community. As always its a WIP and a constant learning, but I like to think that at The Tides, I open the conversation and convey information in a way that allows people to feel more understood.
Three words that people use the most to describe me are; calm, grounded and intuitive. The absolute joy of being in my Tides headspace is that when I give, I get. Holding space for your nervous system to soften allows mine to soften with you. It’s pure magic and connection. That being said, you’re rarely going to get a prescriptive experience; I’ll work the time you’re with me around what you need right then, and adapt the session to fit.
I have a routine pre-client that rarely falters; On my way to you I listen to The Blindboy Podcast; his voice is soothing and the mind map delivery of information is fascinating. I walk and hydrate on the way to see you; vitamin D, fresh air, movement without thinking; one foot in front of the other. When I’m setting up, I listen to a Dopamine playlist I’ve created on Tidal and I dance my heart out. Then, when the room is set up, I do breathwork and practices to ground myself and the room. By the time you arrive, I’m mellow AF, regulated and ready to tune in and guide you to stillness.
I’m tapped into the sensory elements and I get really overstimulated by certain things like bright lights and strong smells, so I felt very strongly about extending that to clients; especially those who are ND. Fabrics, scent, noise, music, lighting is all very considered. I send over a PDF with the breakdown on there, leave enough time to ask the right questions before you arrive and give you space to let me know about anything I’ve forgotten. You’ll never be expected to shrink yourself into a box that’s already been built. No polyester blankets washed in Daz on my watch, people.
I will never see more than 3 clients in a day and they’re generally well spaced out. If I’m tired, rushing or still carrying the emotional overspill of the person who was in before you, you’re never going to get me at 100%. When you pay for an hour, that’s an hour on the massage table, not an hour all in. A busy diary is never going to be the way I want to work.
I always worked part-time in The Tides alongside headhunting up until September 2025. Whilst this work (cringe) feels like what I was always meant to do, and the idea when I resigned from recruitment was to be 100% Tides, it just hasn’t worked out that way for me. I am by nature a real introvert extrovert . Many times over the past 8 months of working solely for myself, by myself, I’ve felt a bit flat and the loneliness has affected me. I realised that the balance of a faster pace, the collective energy of a team around me, alongside a different sort of physicality and movement coupled with the slow, grounding work in the treatment room is where I thrive. I need both. So as from July, I’m going be working 15 hours per week at a local cafe and the rest of the time at The Tides. I honestly think this will make me a better therapist for you.
